In our efforts at EBC Nairobi to encourage and equip pastors we have started a ministry that we are calling Ekklesia Afrika. Ekklesia Afrika is a ministry that seeks to meet a primary need among African pastors by providing them access to much needed theological resources in form of books, electronic media, and 3 annual conferences hosted by Emmanuel Baptist Church, Nairobi.
Ekklesia Afrika is also in the process of launching an informal theological training course dubbed the SOMA Program. Through this program we hope to equip pastors with a book a month which we intend for them to use for reading, writing and discussing the content with other like minded pastors in their region. We intend to help the pastor develop his own theological library as he uses the information to interrogate and reform his ministry in accordance to biblical principles.
The Reformation at 500:
We are pleased to invite you to our first event, The Reformation at 500. 2017 marks 500 years since Martin Luther nailed his 95 theses to the door of the University Chapel in Wittenberg Germany. With this simple act, what we commonly refer to as the Protestant Reformation was started. Many men and women before and after Luther were used of God to reclaim precious Scriptural truths that our churches today have the privilege of believing and preaching.
Ekklesia Afrika invites you to this year’s conference to come and receive biblical preaching and teaching concerning this great historical event. There will be 6 General Sessions and 12 Workshops in the 2 days that will aim at bettering your understanding of the men, events, and ideas that shaped the Reformation. More information regarding this event are appended below.
We are very pleased that Dr Steven Lawson from The Master’s Seminary, a prolific author and speaker, has accepted our invitation and will be our keynote speaker. Workshop speakers will be drawn from our pool of experienced and reliable local pastors and teachers.
We hope that you will be able to gather with us for a time of fellowship and instruction.
